Client Request
The client required a solution to determine the status of the doors (open or closed) on the yacht and relay this information to the control room.
Challenges
•Existing wiring on the yacht needed to be considered for the installation of sensors.
•Finding a suitable sensor that could be attached to each door and relay information back to the control room.
•Ensuring that the sensors were designed to withstand the marine environment.
•The short timeline for completion of the project.
Solution
The project was carried out in the UAE for a recreational yacht that had 24 doors. The FSE automation team conducted a thorough analysis of the existing wiring on the yacht and designed a solution that used magnetic sensors to detect the status of each door. Holders were custom-made for each sensor and installed on each door. The sensors were then attached to the holders, and the wiring was connected to relay the information back to the control room. The sensors used were designed to withstand the marine environment and were able to accurately detect the status of each door. The project was completed within a week, and the yacht was fully under control.
