Client Request
The Gulf Pavilion at Expo 2021 Dubai requested a display that would showcase the importance of water flow in life. They required an interactive exhibit that would allow visitors to control the water levels in an aquarium using switches.
Challenges
•The exhibit had to be interactive and visually appealing to attract visitors.
•The water tank had to be regularly filled and emptied without any spills or leaks.
•The switches had to be easy to use and reliable.
•The exhibit had to be installed and tested in a short time frame before Expo 2021.
Solution
To meet the client's request, we designed and installed an aquarium and a large white cabinet with a water tank at the bottom. Capacitive sensors Autonics CR18-8AO were installed in the aquarium, and waterproofing was done. We used 5 AT8N Autonics timers and SP-0324 Autonics power supply to control the switches and ensure a smooth water flow. The switches were placed for each tank level, allowing visitors to command the tank to be filled with water up to that point by clicking on each switch. To ensure an interactive and visually appealing exhibit, complete wiring was done in the cabinet. The entire project was carried out by Future Sky group.
Products Used In This Project
Multi-Function Analog Timer - AT8N
Autonics AT8N timer is an 8-pin socket type timer with an analog type dial for easy adjustments. The AT8N has a variety of selectable timer modes, functions, and ranges, which makes this product a convenient universal timer application choice. Universal power supply of 100–240-volt AC or 24–240-volt DC in AT8N timer allows for flexibility in product use. A power on and output status LED easily verifies proper mode function.
