Client Request
The client requested the installation of a door sensor that could open the door automatically when the waiters carrying food or items passed through the door without affecting the view of the dining room. The sensor should be concealed and match the interior design of the kitchen.
Challenges
• Installing the sensor at the bottom of the door rather than the top.
• Ensuring that the sensor detects the movement of waiters from a closer distance.
• Concealing the sensor and matching it with the kitchen's interior design.
• Connecting the sensor output to the automatic door motors of the villa.
Solution
The solution was to install an Autonics BEN300/DFR sensor in a 10*10 cm box at the bottom of the door. A smoked glass was installed in front of the sensor to conceal it and match it with the kitchen's interior design. The sensor was set to detect movement from a closer distance than usual. The output of the sensor was connected to the trigger of the automatic door motors of the villa, allowing the door to open automatically when waiters passed through it. This solution addressed all the challenges and met the client's objectives.
Products Used In This Project
Photo Sensor 300mm Sensing Distance, NPN, PNP Open Collector Output - BEN300-DFR
The Autonics photoelectric sensor BEN300-DFR with built-in IC photo diode can sense objects without the ambient light and electrical noise affecting the process. This sensor which is diffuse reflective, comes in a rectangular shape, sensing distance of 300mm and Rectangular installation.
